It all begins tomorrow

Walking through the streets of San Francisco there is a buzz as Oracle Open World continues to build it's stage for what I can only describe as being a massive event. As the setup continues, streets have been blocked off and there are Oracle signs everywhere.

Today sees the start of registration for the conference. A walk through the Moscone Center is amazing. The venue is enormous and there are booths and stalls filling the conference Center.

Registration was painless with laptops setup to enter your details and printing your conference badge. Looks like I picked a good time to register with only a handful of attendees there to sign up. I'm sure that tomorrow will  be a much more hectic day. It wouldn't be a conference if you didn't get some conference material. This year it is an Oracle Laptop Bag, Glass Water Bottle and a Notepad with Pen.

Tomorrow is the Official kickoff of the conference with Oracle University Sessions being held on a number of streams. Sunday evening is the start of the conference with a Larry Ellison, CEO, Oracle giving his keynote address to the attendees.

Monday morning starts off with "Best Practices for Achieving Maximum Performance with Oracle CRM On Demand Analytics" a sessions with Mike Lairson who is an authority on the topic having written numerous reference books on the subject. This is bound to be a very informative session and I can't wait to listen to Mike speak. Analytics and Reporting is at the heart of every organisation and is key for understanding and running the business.

Following Mike, I then head to "The Consumerization of IT: Adoption, Transformation, and Disruption". This session is presented by Lemuel Lasher, President, Global Business Solutions Group, and Chief Innovation Officer. This session will cover how Senior Management should embrace this change and become proactive advisors and strategic partners to help their organizations adapt to a more consumer-based model

After a short break, I then head into "Supercharge Your CRM with Better Business Insight". This session is presented by James Rogers, Vice President, Dun & Bradstreet. This session will cover  how you can incorporate innovative approaches such as prospect integration within Oracle CRM solution so that you can leverage validated, automatically updated, and comprehensive company and contact information to uncover potential new business and boost sales.

Everyone is after success in their organisation and mine is no different. When implementing any tool, your organisation has made a significant capital and resource investment, with the view it will drive the business and its revenue.  My next session is "Achieving Success with Oracle CRM On Demand" This is being presented by Alexei Marcilio, Manager of CRM, Bayer Health Care; Keith Bereskin, Director IT, ISTA Pharmaceuticals; Matthieu Jusserand, Director Global Digital Marketing, Knowledge Management & CRM; Thomas Pettersson, Business Leader Sales Operations, VISA; Anthony Lye, Senior Vice President, Oracle. In this session I will hear how several leading organizations are maximizing business success with Oracle CRM On Demand. The panel will discuss the key implementation best practices that resulted in their success while enabling them to avoid the common risks of software implementations.

And my last session for the day covers off the Oracle CRM On Demand Product Strategy and Roadmap. Like any solution the strategic vision of the vendor and it's product is a key piece in the purchase of any IT solution. Oracle On demand is no different and I look forward to see whats in store for our organisation.

So with the schedule for Monday locked in, I can now rest up for what is sure to be an exhausting day of information overload. Stay tuned for my review of the sessions come Monday.

The Journey Begins

Oracle Open World is Oracle's annual conference that brings together Oracle technologists, customers, and partners from all over the globe. The conference provides thousands of sessions and hundreds of demos aimed at driving results with the technology that Oracle and it's partners provide. It helps it's attendees plan strategically and understand emerging technology in the market place.

On Friday 30th September, my journey begins to attend and participate at Oracle Open World 2011 in San Francisco.

I have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to not only attend this industry event, but to present to an international audience about best practice of implementation and use of Oracle CRM On Demand: Partner Relationship Management module.
